I hold a PhD in Earth and Environmental Sciences from IISER Bhopal, India, with over eight years of research experience in greenhouse gas modeling, terrestrial carbon flux estimation, and the integration of ground-based and satellite observations. My research focuses on improving the understanding of carbon cycle processes and land-use change impacts on greenhouse gas fluxes. At LMU, I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher on the NextGenCarbon project, where I focus on improving the bookkeeping model BLUE for better land-use change emission estimates by implementing new recovery curves and integrating Earth observation data to refine global carbon budget assessments.
I am working on the NextGenCarbon project, where my focus is on improving estimates of carbon emissions from land use and land-use change (LULUC) activities using the bookkeeping model BLUE. Currently, BLUE is among the four models providing LULUC emission estimates to the Global Carbon Budget (GCB). Future improvements of the model include developing and implementing new carbon stock recovery curves, integrating Earth Observation datasets, incorporating disturbances and environmental impacts, and assessing how these enhancements influence the Global Carbon Budget.
During my PhD I used to do teaching for coursed related to atmospheric dynamics and green house gas modeling.
